Guidelines for Application Process: Perth and District CFUW

  1. Letters of interest should include complete name, address, telephone number and email of applicant, and applicant must apply in person.  No third-party applications will be considered.
  2. The cover letter should briefly outline the applicant’s educational plan including past, present and proposed courses or program.
  3. It is helpful if the cover letter briefly describes pertinent background information.   Volunteer work is considered an asset but we recognize that it is not always possible.  Preference will be given to applicants with a well-organized plan including arrangements for childcare if applicable, a financial plan and transportation.
  4. A copy of the acceptance letter from the chosen accredited college or university should be included.

The application package should include two original letters of reference on letterhead where possible.  Contact phone numbers and times the person giving the reference can be available must be included.  It is generally accepted that letters of reference will be written by a person in authority or a professional such as a  boss at work or a teacher  who has known the applicant for a period of years.
  6. This award  is not open to members of the CFUW or their immediate families.
  7. Applicants who are chosen to be given the award must agree to the publication of their names.  A reception will be held to present the awards
  8. The application deadline is mid May.
