I had the pleasure of travelling this September - here are a few things I discovered in my travels. Great Canadian Tour Company has an anti – idling policy for all its Tour Buses – they don’t idle!  It is illegal to idle your truck or bus longer than 5 minutes in New York State. In Bermuda all Commercial and Residential waste is processed in a plant – the ashes from this process are then mixed with concrete, and this mixture is then used in the construction of bus shelters, small municipal buildings, and shoreline restoration. It has a 25 acre Compost Production Center – that accepts 8 metric tons of organic waste and 35 tons of horticultural waste PER day! This is all turned into useable compost. All rain water in Bermuda is collected by law in cisterns from every roof top painted with a special brilliant white non-toxic paint, and used for toilets, sinks, watering plants, gardens etc. Water costs $75.00 dollars a truck load.

Now, do you know how many glasses of water you would save by turning off the tap while Brushing your teeth for 2 minutes twice a day?
